The Fairview Church exists to introduce people to the transforming power of Jesus Christ through prayer, relationships and evangelism.
We believe in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son.
We believe in the virgin birth.
We believe that Christ was crucified and buried and that on the third day He rose from the dead.
We believe that He rose up into heaven and sits at God’s right hand and from this position He shall come to judge all people.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the forgiveness of sins, and the resurrection of the body.
We believe in His Word, that it is both perfect and without error, the final authority on all matters of faith and practice.
We believe that every person who has accepted Christ’s forgiveness is a member of the church of God.
We are the Fairview Church of God, established in 1906 as the Woodland Park Church of God. We are associated with the Church of God based in Anderson, Indiana and are a part of the Pacific Northwest Association of the Church of God.
Prayer, missions, and creation information is provided on the prayer table, set up in the auditorium every Sunday morning. Most things on the table are free, even books and magazines. We have prayer cards for the missionaries of the Church of God that the Fairview Church is supporting financially and with prayer. We support missionaries that are located in 60 areas of the world.
We have scripture prayers following Ruth Shinness’ prayer strategy books. These are very helpful for families that need love, forgiveness, and unity. Other prayer aids are available. For more information on Ruth Shinness' books please visit prayerstrategy.com
Our goal is to draw people to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
You can usually find me running around Fairview checking on all the wonderful Child Center staff! Its been 10 years already! So hard to believe! My husband Mark and I live in Snohomish with our hilariously funny daughter Amelia, and feisty little dude Parker. We spend a lot of time hanging out at our place doing yard work, going to kids sporting events, spending time with friends and family. I really must say my favorite thing to do is laugh….got that from my mom, I guess! Got a funny story? Please hook me up at Amandao@fcsseattle.org. I truly enjoy every minute working here with some of the best co-workers, awesome kids and amazing parents!
I grew up in Alaska and moved to Seattle in 1968. I have been married for over 45 years to Janet (Ropkins). We have 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren. I retired from Boeing in 2006 after 31 years. I enjoy working at Fairview Ministries. My hobbies include hunting, fishing and camping.!
I grew up in Washington State and gave my heart to the Lord at a young age and have served him ever since. I met and married my life-partner, Darla, in Indiana. We have three lovely daughters, Emily, Erica, and Melanie, who have all attended Fairview Christian School. I studied music at Azusa Pacific and Seattle Pacific where I earned my degree. I also studied at the Anderson University School of Theology. I’ve had the privilege of leading worship for over 19 years. Music feeds my soul and worshiping with others is my favorite part of the week. I like the verse where Jesus said, “Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16) My hobbies are gardening and keeping chickens and baking.
Directed to lead in a place where being like none of us makes you one of us! Glenn was raised in the Eastern United States. After Bible College and serving as a Youth Pastor he received his call to full-time senior leadership and has actively engaged that calling, for the most part, over the last 33 years. He has served in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Alberta, Can. and now at home in Seattle, WA. He is married to his beautiful bride Jo, nearly 35 years, and has the distinct privilege of serving in ministry together. Glenn and Jo have three daughters and three grandchildren. A place where being like none of us makes you one of us! Individuals passionate about serving where God has gifted them is foundational to any organization. Finding those individual gifts and callings is one of the most exciting things for him to help uncover and develop. Jesus is the subject, and when we as a community get obsessive about our pursuit, it’s then that we find unity in our diversity. Leading at Fairview Ministries is a dream come true. Church, School, Child Center are all areas close to Glenn’s heart. It doesn’t take long for you to get a glimpse of the vision that lives in his heart, mind, and spirit for the Seattle area. Glenn’s favorite verses of Scripture are: I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Phil. 4:13 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. Psalm 34:3
Hello! I love Fairview! My son started in Pre-K in 2006 (and graduated 8th grade in 2017), my daughter started in preschool in 2008 (and will graduate in 2019) and I started working here doing the Billing in 2016. My husband Henry and I have been married for over 25 years. We love Washington and especially love spending time on Hood Canal. When I'm not at work or driving my kids to their activities, I love walking my dog, being with friends and family and trying to get my kids to eat healthy food!
My name is Jen Smith. I'm the Youth Pastor for Fairview Church and I also teach Bible to the Middle School. I have lived in Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, Indiana, Colorado, Oregon, Virginia and North Carolina. I've been in Seattle for two years. I have a dog named Nicodemus and two cats - Solomon and Nebuchadnezzar. I'm thoroughly enjoying my time being a part of the Fairview Ministries Team.
Ministering to children and helping them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and with others has always been my passion. I was raised in a Christian home on a farm in PA with 7 other siblings which helped to form a foundation that I cherish. I gave my life to Christ as a teenager and have thoroughly enjoyed the journey that God has me on. Among the different jobs that I have had, being a mom has been my favorite. Along the way I have had the privilege of working in both private and public schools as secretary, receptionist, and TA with special needs children. I have always volunteered to work with children’s ministries in the various churches where my husband, Pastor Glenn, has been pastor, and now I am excited to have the opportunity to disciple kids full time. I am continuing my education through an online KidMin program and I plan to obtain my license through the Church of God. Glenn and I have 3 adult daughters and 3 grandchildren that we are very proud of. I like to take walks with my camera, read a good John Grisham book, and be with my family.
Hello! My name is Kent Davis and I am the School Administrator of Fairview Chrisitan School and an Associate Pastor with Fairview Ministries. My family and I moved to Seattle in June of 2017 to accept the position of School Administrator. I have been married for 25 years to my wonderful wife Dianna and we have four awesome kids. We are loving life in the Northwest and all the many things it has to offer. Fairview is a special place for me because God is allowing me to work in the Christian school environment after working the past 30 years in various school districts in Indiana as a teacher, curriculum coach, principal, and Title I Director. Fairview is a very special assignment as I can finally give back to my Christian education roots where I spent my educational years from grade 3 until I graduated from Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis. I proudly cheer on for the Indianapolis Colts even from so far away! Mark 8:34 says: "Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me." This is a special verse that depicts my life and how I try to follow Him where He leads me. I love Fairview and being part of this special place and look forward to the work ahead of making Fairview Christian School the best place in Seattle for a private Christian School experience for students and their family.
