Pastor Gary MadsenSchool Provost/Associate Pastor
Gary has been serving at the Fairview Church for the past 15 years (12 years in the school ministry). He has a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, and a Master of Science in Community Counseling. Both degrees were awarded from Seattle Pacific University, in Seattle, Washington.
When not at Fairview, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Betty, three boys, Joey, Ryan, and Jeffery, and their family pet dog - Rocky. In addition, Gary enjoys working with tools (more power!), meeting friends for coffee, reading, using technology, and playing an occasional game of golf. His favorite thing about working at Fairview is the atmosphere of unity and the sense of purpose that comes from serving God.
One of his favorite Bible passages is Hebrews 12:1-3, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
