Why do I need to submit tax forms? Tax and other supporting documents are used to verify application information.

What happens with my personal information? Only the Fairview Business Office has access to the tuition assistance application and assessment. The Fairview Finance Manager Bookkeeper inputs the financial aid information onto the monthly statements. All personal information, including award amounts, will be kept in strict confidence. Tax forms and other personal information will be shredded at the end of the school year for which the application is dated.

If I apply for financial aid will that hinder my chance of admission to FCS? No. Admission and Tuition Assistance decisions are made independent of each other.

I don’t know if our family will qualify for Tuition Assistance. Should I still apply? Yes. We may be able to alleviate some of your concerns about qualifying simply by having a telephone conversation or short meeting. You are encouraged to call so we can schedule a meeting or answer your questions about Tuition Assistance. Fairview Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color and national or ethnic origin.

How do I apply? You can request a packet from the office (206.526.0762), or download a form, complete and submit it to the office.

When is the deadline for submitting the paperwork? Returning Fairview families may submit a completed application by April 15th. New families may submit a completed application by May 15. Applications are welcomed after these dates, but assistance is awarded on a first come first served basis.

Approximately how long does the process take? The process takes approximately eight weeks. We encourage families to submit the necessary paperwork as soon as possible.

How is my award dispensed? Funds are normally applied over the school year (August - May).

Do I have to repay the award that I receive? No. The awards do not need to be repaid. However, if a student on tuition assistance is expelled or withdrawn from school he/she will not receive refunds of tuition payments when the amount paid is less than the standard tuition for the months attended.

If I receive assistance this school year, does that guarantee that I will automatically receive the same amount for the next school year? No. Families continuing to need assistance must reapply each year.

Does Fairview give full tuition credits? The amount of each award is dependent upon numerous factors including the availability of funds. Awards of 100% of tuition are not common.

Can International students qualify for assistance? No. By law, international students are required to show proof of financial ability to live and study in the United States.
